R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mike Sipes of Graham retired from his position as an
  agent with State Farm Insurance on October 30, 2015, drawing to a
  close an outstanding career that spanned three decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Sipes graduated from Boyd High School and went
  on to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and Angelo State
  University; he began his work with State Farm in November 1985, when
  he opened his own office in Graham; at the time of his retirement,
  his business had grown to serve some 5,300 clients and was handling
  more than $5 million in premiums each year; and
         WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of his community, Mr. Sipes has
  been Young County Commissioner for Precinct 1 since 2013; in
  retirement, he has been able to more fully devote himself to civic
  service, and he has enjoyed spending additional time with his wife,
  Sherry, and his other family members and friends; and
         WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to
  excellence demonstrated by Mike Sipes have greatly benefited the
  citizens of Young County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on
  his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Sipes on his retirement from
  State Farm Insurance and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Sipes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
