R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Mike Sipes of Graham retired from his position as an |
|
agent with State Farm Insurance on October 30, 2015, drawing to a |
|
close an outstanding career that spanned three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Sipes graduated from Boyd High School and went |
|
on to attend The University of Texas at Arlington and Angelo State |
|
University; he began his work with State Farm in November 1985, when |
|
he opened his own office in Graham; at the time of his retirement, |
|
his business had grown to serve some 5,300 clients and was handling |
|
more than $5 million in premiums each year; and |
|
WHEREAS, A steadfast champion of his community, Mr. Sipes has |
|
been Young County Commissioner for Precinct 1 since 2013; in |
|
retirement, he has been able to more fully devote himself to civic |
|
service, and he has enjoyed spending additional time with his wife, |
|
Sherry, and his other family members and friends; and |
|
WHEREAS, The dedication, professionalism, and commitment to |
|
excellence demonstrated by Mike Sipes have greatly benefited the |
|
citizens of Young County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
his many accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mike Sipes on his retirement from |
|
State Farm Insurance and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Sipes as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
