R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Truman and Janet Poole |
|
|
of Floydada celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on |
|
|
August 13, 2016; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Truman Poole and the former Janet Payne were joined |
|
|
in matrimony in 1966 at a ceremony held at the home of the groom's |
|
|
sister in Shallowater; through the years, they have been blessed |
|
|
with a treasured family that includes their children, Debbie Smith |
|
|
and Tracey Poole, as well as two grandchildren, Ashley Smith and |
|
|
Amber Reed, and two great-grandchildren, Tii Nathan Summers and |
|
|
Layne Reed; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Valued residents of the Floydada community since |
|
|
2012, the couple previously resided in Idalou for 46 years; |
|
|
Mr. Poole had a productive career with Payne's Brokerage before |
|
|
becoming a self-employed handyman in 1974; Mrs. Poole held jobs |
|
|
with the S&H Green Stamp Center and The Reproduction Company, from |
|
|
which she retired in 2006, and she subsequently returned to work for |
|
|
another four years at the Coffee Haus in Idalou; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Poole have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Truman and Janet Poole on their |
|
|
50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
