R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Kirsten Crow of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times was |
|
recognized for her outstanding work by the Texas Associated Press |
|
Managing Editors at the group's convention in Houston on March |
|
24-26, 2017; and |
|
WHEREAS, Every year, TAPME and the Headliners Foundation of |
|
Texas join together to recognize outstanding journalism from the |
|
Lone Star State's daily newspapers; the Caller-Times and its staff |
|
competed in the Class AAA category, for newspapers with a Sunday |
|
circulation ranging from 30,000 to nearly 125,000; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumna of Texas State University, Ms. Crow worked |
|
at the Laredo Morning Times and the Waco Tribune-Herald before |
|
joining the staff of the Corpus Christi Caller-Times in September |
|
2013; today, she serves the publication as an enterprise reporter |
|
specializing in city government; her areas of expertise include |
|
watchdog work and such key topics as city growth and affordable |
|
housing; at the 2017 TAPME convention, she placed second in both the |
|
Star Reporter of the Year and Specialty Reporting categories; and |
|
WHEREAS, Newspapers serve as a vital resource for a |
|
well-informed citizenry, and through her important work with the |
|
Caller-Times, Kirsten Crow is making an invaluable contribution to |
|
the residents of her community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kirsten Crow on her success at the |
|
2017 Texas Associated Press Managing Editors convention and extend |
|
to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Crow as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
