R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, John Gregory Webb of Fort Worth retired from the
  office of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts on March 31,
  2017, drawing to a close nearly three decades of exemplary service;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Webb began his career with the state
  comptroller's office in December 1988; stationed in the Fort Worth
  field office throughout his tenure, he earned promotion to
  lieutenant tax fraud investigator, and in his most recent
  assignment, he was responsible for supervising the northeast region
  of the Criminal Investigation Division; and
         WHEREAS, Prior to joining state government, Mr. Webb worked
  as an agent for the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command for
  more than 20 years; he served as the branch representative to the
  U.S. Department of Justice Defense Procurement Fraud Unit in
  Washington, D.C., before retiring with the rank of chief warrant
  officer four; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Webb has enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Linda, and the couple are looking forward
  to traveling the world together; and
         WHEREAS, John Webb's dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence have greatly benefited his fellow Texans,
  and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he
  embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate John Gregory Webb on his retirement
  from the office of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Webb as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
