R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Community advocate and entrepreneur Amy Wallace
  Cowan is receiving a 40 Under 40 Award from the Dallas Business
  Journal on May 18, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Each year, the Dallas Business Journal celebrates
  the achievements of 40 young professionals and community leaders in
  North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, A community relations and marketing specialist, Amy
  Cowan began her career as the catering and conference manager for a
  hotel and later served as director of fund-raising for the
  Democratic Party of Arkansas; after moving to Dallas, she
  established Cowan Roberts LLP, a public relations and fund-raising
  firm, with Jason Roberts, and she serves the company as outreach
  director; she is also a co-owner of the Oddfellows diner in the
  Bishop Arts District; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic woman has served on the Preservation
  Dallas Board and the board of the Dallas Convention and Visitors
  Bureau; dedicated to the historic Oak Cliff community, she helped
  to revitalize the Bishop Arts District, co-founded Go Oak Cliff,
  served on the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce board, and initiated
  events such as the annual Mardi Gras Oak Cliff festival and the
  inaugural Better Block Project; in addition, she has been a member
  of the Rosemont Early Childhood PTA; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Cowan enjoys the love and
  support of her husband, Eric, and her daughters, Aubrey Cate,
  Colette, and Laurel; and
         WHEREAS, Texas communities benefit immeasurably from the
  dedication of committed individuals like Amy Cowan, whose civic
  engagement and entrepreneurship truly merit special recognition;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Amy Wallace Cowan on her receipt of
  a 2017 40 Under 40 Award from the Dallas Business Journal and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cowan as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
