R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jillian Pflederer of Austin has ably served her |
|
|
fellow Texans as an intern in the office of State Representative Dan |
|
|
Huberty during the 85th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Pflederer has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of tasks, including |
|
|
answering phone calls, logging constituent correspondence, and |
|
|
helping create a bill book; in addition to gaining valuable |
|
|
experience in the field of public service, she has learned more |
|
|
about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the |
|
|
Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Andy and Kathy Pflederer, |
|
|
Ms. Pflederer is in her sophomore year at The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin where she is working to complete a degree in the Plan II |
|
|
Honors program with a concentration in international relations and |
|
|
Arabic; moreover, she has earned distinction as a Dedman |
|
|
Distinguished Scholar and an undergraduate fellow with the Clement |
|
|
Center for National Security, and she has received a Critical |
|
|
Language Scholarship to study abroad in Oman during the summer of |
|
|
2017; she devotes her spare time to Amaanah Refugee Services and to |
|
|
PALS, a program that helps international students adjust to life at |
|
|
UT; following her graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a |
|
|
foreign field officer with the U.S. State Department; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Jillian Pflederer for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Dan |
|
|
Huberty and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Pflederer as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
