R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Sara Monarrez of Girl Scout Troop No. 667 in
  McKinney has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this
  accomplishment truly merits recognition; and
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Monarrez successfully
  met a series of requirements emphasizing community service,
  personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership
  skills; as part of that process, she planned and implemented a Girl
  Scout Gold Award project that involved the creation of a mentoring
  program for young girls at the McKinney Housing Authority; known as
  the Girls Empowerment Club, this invaluable endeavor was recognized
  by the McKinney City Council with a certificate of appreciation;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Robert and Lori
  Monarrez, this fine young Texan is a senior at Imagine
  International Academy of North Texas, where she has earned Academic
  Excellence honors and served as a stalwart member of the swimming
  and tennis teams; she plans to continue her education in the fall at
  the University of North Texas; and
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Monarrez has
  demonstrated in the pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the
  highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect with
  pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Sara Monarrez on her receipt of the
  Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Monarrez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
