R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Sara Monarrez of Girl Scout Troop No. 667 in |
|
|
McKinney has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this |
|
|
accomplishment truly merits recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Monarrez successfully |
|
|
met a series of requirements emphasizing community service, |
|
|
personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and leadership |
|
|
skills; as part of that process, she planned and implemented a Girl |
|
|
Scout Gold Award project that involved the creation of a mentoring |
|
|
program for young girls at the McKinney Housing Authority; known as |
|
|
the Girls Empowerment Club, this invaluable endeavor was recognized |
|
|
by the McKinney City Council with a certificate of appreciation; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Robert and Lori |
|
|
Monarrez, this fine young Texan is a senior at Imagine |
|
|
International Academy of North Texas, where she has earned Academic |
|
|
Excellence honors and served as a stalwart member of the swimming |
|
|
and tennis teams; she plans to continue her education in the fall at |
|
|
the University of North Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Monarrez has |
|
|
demonstrated in the pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the |
|
|
highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sara Monarrez on her receipt of the |
|
|
Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Monarrez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
