R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Dana Riley has greatly benefited her community as
  executive director of Volunteer McKinney; and
         WHEREAS, Appointed in 2012, Ms. Riley ably guides the
  center's initiatives, including volunteer recruitment, training of
  nonprofit organizations, and educating businesses about employee
  engagement and good corporate citizenship; over the years, she has
  developed many innovative programs, and in 2015, she was named one
  of the top 25 women in business by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce;
  the following year, she received the 2016 Quality of Life Award from
  the McKinney Community Development Corporation; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Riley brings to her position decades of
  experience in community collaboration, volunteer management, and
  critical incident response; she has authored numerous curricula for
  training public servants and volunteers, and she often enhances the
  learning process with games and activities that illustrate key
  principles; she has an extensive background in working with
  nonprofit organizations, Fortune 500 companies, and all levels of
  government; and
         WHEREAS, Before joining Volunteer McKinney, Ms. Riley served
  as assistant human resources administrator for the Dallas County
  Juvenile Department and as director of the Volunteer Center of
  North Texas; earlier in her career, she assisted law enforcement
  through service to the International Association of Chiefs of
  Police and the Garland Police Department, and she has been a guest
  lecturer at Sam Houston State University; and
         WHEREAS, Volunteer McKinney plays an important role in the
  community by connecting civic-minded residents with opportunities
  to make a positive impact, and through her skilled and dedicated
  leadership, Dana Riley has made this outstanding organization even
  more effective; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dana Riley for her contributions as
  executive director of Volunteer McKinney and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Riley as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
