R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Christ Fellowship in McKinney |
|
|
celebrated the 20th anniversary of their church's founding on March |
|
|
16, 2017; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Originally known as McKinney Fellowship, the church |
|
|
was organized by senior pastor Bruce Miller and held its first |
|
|
service on March 16, 1997; the congregation adopted the name Christ |
|
|
Fellowship in 2010, and after two decades of growth, this vital |
|
|
institution currently has more than 2,000 members, an online |
|
|
following, and a dedicated team of pastors, support staff, and over |
|
|
350 volunteers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In April 2017, the church is breaking ground on a |
|
|
construction project that will include renovations and a new |
|
|
auxiliary worship center for Spanish-language services; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless McKinney residents have looked to Christ |
|
|
Fellowship for spiritual guidance over the years, and it is a |
|
|
pleasure to join in honoring the congregation at this special time |
|
|
in its history; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of Christ |
|
|
Fellowship and extend to its members sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the church as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
