R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and |
|
|
meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends |
|
|
of Luis B. Romo Sr. of Robstown, who passed away on February 10, |
|
|
2017, at the age of 78; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Jose and Adelia Barrera Romo, Luis Romo |
|
|
was born on October 6, 1938, in Slaton, and he eventually moved to |
|
|
Robstown, where he was a valued member of El Redentor United |
|
|
Methodist Church; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man, Luis Romo shared more than |
|
|
four decades of marriage with his beloved wife, Petra, and he was |
|
|
the proud father of three daughters, Mary Ann, Priscila, and June, |
|
|
and four sons, Luis, Juan, Jose, and Vicente; as the years went by, |
|
|
he was further blessed with 18 grandchildren and 19 |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Luis Romo possessed a generosity of spirit that |
|
|
expressed itself in myriad ways, and he enriched the lives of |
|
|
countless people with his warmth and kindness; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Luis B. Romo Sr. and |
|
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
wife, Petra Romo; to his children, Luis Romo Jr. and his wife, |
|
|
Nanette, Mary Ann Aguirre and her husband, Juan, Juan Manuel Diaz |
|
|
Sr. and his wife, Sylvia, Priscila Vega and her husband, Jose, Jose |
|
|
Diaz Jr. and his wife, Pearl, Vicente Diaz, and June Gamboa and her |
|
|
husband, Douglas; to his siblings, Fernando Romo, Dionisio Romo, |
|
|
Frances Suarez, Rachel Aleman and her husband, Juan, Rebecca, and |
|
|
Diana Salinas; to his stepmother, Susana Romo; to his grandchildren |
|
|
and great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Luis B. |
