R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and |
|
generosity of Juan Gonzales Sr., who passed away on January 29, |
|
2017, at the age of 87; and |
|
WHEREAS, Juan Gonzales was born on June 25, 1929, in Punta del |
|
Monte to Guadalupe and Sofia Gonzales; he and his beloved wife, |
|
Maria Guadalupe Gonzales, raised three daughters and four sons |
|
together, and they were further blessed with 15 grandchildren, 7 |
|
great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as |
|
a cowboy, and he worked on ranches across South Texas, including the |
|
Punta del Monte Ranch, the El Sauz Ranch, and the Kenedy Ranch; he |
|
was known as a fearless bronc rider who was rarely thrown from a |
|
horse; he retired in 1990 as a Kineño from the Norias Division of |
|
the King Ranch; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted husband and a loving father and |
|
grandfather, Juan Gonzales brightened the world for all who knew |
|
him, and they will forever remember his wisdom, courage, and |
|
compassion; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Juan Gonzales Sr. and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of his family and to his |
|
many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Juan |
|
Gonzales Sr. |
