R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Countless lives were touched by the kindness and
  generosity of Juan Gonzales Sr., who passed away on January 29,
  2017, at the age of 87; and
         WHEREAS, Juan Gonzales was born on June 25, 1929, in Punta del
  Monte to Guadalupe and Sofia Gonzales; he and his beloved wife,
  Maria Guadalupe Gonzales, raised three daughters and four sons
  together, and they were further blessed with 15 grandchildren, 7
  great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gonzales enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as
  a cowboy, and he worked on ranches across South Texas, including the
  Punta del Monte Ranch, the El Sauz Ranch, and the Kenedy Ranch; he
  was known as a fearless bronc rider who was rarely thrown from a
  horse; he retired in 1990 as a Kineño from the Norias Division of
  the King Ranch; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted husband and a loving father and
  grandfather, Juan Gonzales brightened the world for all who knew
  him, and they will forever remember his wisdom, courage, and
  compassion; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Juan Gonzales Sr. and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family and to his
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Juan
  Gonzales Sr.
