R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort |
|
those saddened by the loss of Mildred Ruth Van Fleet Barton of |
|
Hondo, who passed away on April 2, 2017, at the age of 94; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Clarence and Ruth Van Fleet, the |
|
former Mildred Van Fleet was born on September 21, 1922, in Hondo |
|
and grew up with the companionship of a sister, Frances, and a |
|
brother, Bobby; after graduating from Hondo High School, she |
|
continued her studies at San Antonio Business College; and |
|
WHEREAS, She wed Jim Barton at a ceremony in Hondo on April |
|
10, 1943, and over the course of a rewarding marriage that spanned |
|
nearly 74 years, the couple became the proud parents of five |
|
children, Betty, Kathy, Sheri, Bill, and Jimmy; with the passing |
|
years, they had the pleasure of welcoming into their family 13 |
|
grandchildren, Jamey, Donnie, Louis, Mandi, Chris, Kelly, Susan, |
|
Aaron, Angie, Chancey, Shawna, Ryan, and Dusty, as well as 19 |
|
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Mildred Barton will be deeply missed, those |
|
who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she |
|
brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mildred Ruth Van |
|
Fleet Barton and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mildred |
|
Barton. |
