R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
  those saddened by the loss of Mildred Ruth Van Fleet Barton of
  Hondo, who passed away on April 2, 2017, at the age of 94; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Clarence and Ruth Van Fleet, the
  former Mildred Van Fleet was born on September 21, 1922, in Hondo
  and grew up with the companionship of a sister, Frances, and a
  brother, Bobby; after graduating from Hondo High School, she
  continued her studies at San Antonio Business College; and
         WHEREAS, She wed Jim Barton at a ceremony in Hondo on April
  10, 1943, and over the course of a rewarding marriage that spanned
  nearly 74 years, the couple became the proud parents of five
  children, Betty, Kathy, Sheri, Bill, and Jimmy; with the passing
  years, they had the pleasure of welcoming into their family 13
  grandchildren, Jamey, Donnie, Louis, Mandi, Chris, Kelly, Susan,
  Aaron, Angie, Chancey, Shawna, Ryan, and Dusty, as well as 19
  great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although Mildred Barton will be deeply missed, those
  who held her dear will forever remember the warmth and kindness she
  brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mildred Ruth Van
  Fleet Barton and extend sincere condolences to her relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mildred
  Barton.
