R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Dorothy Wentrcek Cavett of Austin on April 19, 2017, at
  the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, The only child of John E. and Martha Valchar
  Wentrcek, the former Dorothy Wentrcek was born on September 20,
  1931, in Granger; after graduating from Taylor High School in 1949,
  she moved to Austin, where she graduated from Durham Business
  College before embarking on a notable career in public service that
  spanned more than three decades; employed for a number of years in
  the Office of the Adjutant General, she later served from 1979 to
  1989 as the office manager for State Representative Jerry Clark;
  and
         WHEREAS, Dorothy Cavett and her husband, Bobby, met while
  both were working for the adjutant general's office, and they
  shared 57 joyous years of marriage; she was a caring mother to her
  son, Kenneth Cavett, and her daughter, Nancy Martin, and she had the
  pleasure of seeing her family grow to include four grandchildren,
  Melanie Merton, Brian Cavett, and Ryan and Tyler Martin, as well as
  three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Robbie, and Will; and
         WHEREAS, Warm and outgoing, Dorothy Cavett helped to foster a
  sense of community in the Bryker Woods neighborhood, where she was a
  longtime resident, and she delighted in the company of a wide circle
  of friends; she was known for her love of cooking, and in
  retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively, both
  within the United States and abroad; and
         WHEREAS, Dorothy Cavett brightened the world for all around
  her, and those who were blessed to share in her love and affection
  will forever carry her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dorothy Wentrcek
  Cavett and extend sincere condolences to all those who mourn her
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dorothy
  Wentrcek Cavett.
