R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of the Tuloso-Midway High School |
|
|
spelling and vocabulary team distinguished themselves with their |
|
|
performances at the 2017 University Interscholastic League |
|
|
District 30-5A Academics Spring Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The team was composed of Tristan Salinas, George |
|
|
Duran, Ace Castillo, and Jacob Ramos, and their combined efforts |
|
|
earned the team third place overall; moreover, Mr. Salinas placed |
|
|
third in individual competition, earning advancement to the |
|
|
regional contest; the quartet benefited from the skillful guidance |
|
|
of coach Maria Gonzales; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With their fine showing in the UIL district |
|
|
competition, these bright young Texans have proudly represented |
|
|
Tuloso-Midway High School, and the dedication they have |
|
|
demonstrated is sure to serve them well in the years ahead; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Tuloso-Midway |
|
|
High School spelling and vocabulary team on their participation in |
|
|
the 2017 UIL District 30-5A Academics Spring Meet and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
