R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Irene A. Armendariz of Austin is retiring as a |
|
member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards on May 4, 2017, |
|
concluding nearly a decade of distinguished service to that body; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Armendariz was appointed to TCJS by Governor |
|
Rick Perry in October 2007, and throughout her tenure, she played a |
|
vital role in advancing the agency's mission of establishing |
|
standards for the care and treatment of prisoners and for the |
|
construction, maintenance, and operation of county and municipal |
|
jails; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumna of the University of Phoenix, |
|
Ms. Armendariz has also enjoyed a fulfilling career in the health |
|
care industry; she currently serves as senior vice president of |
|
operations for Cenpatico Behavioral Health and as a member of the |
|
board of Superior HealthPlan; she has further benefited her |
|
community through her efforts on the board of the Greater El Paso |
|
Chamber of Commerce and the allocation committee of the United Way |
|
of El Paso County; and |
|
WHEREAS, Irene Armendariz has served the State of Texas with |
|
great skill and dedication, and she may take justifiable pride in |
|
her many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting |
|
chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Irene A. Armendariz for her service as a |
|
member of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Armendariz as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
