R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of Christina Susanne Lane of Corpus Christi, who died on
  April 9, 2017, at the age of 34; and
         WHEREAS, Christina Lane was born in Corpus Christi on October
  14, 1982, to Paula Davis Clark and Richard Scott Lane, and she grew
  up on Padre Island, where she learned to love the outdoor life; when
  she was 11, her family moved to Bastrop, and she was an active
  member of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship at First United
  Methodist Church; she graduated from Bastrop High School in 2001;
  and
         WHEREAS, In 2005, Ms. Lane received her bachelor's degree in
  kinesiology and business at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi,
  and she went on to earn teaching credentials and certifications in
  physical education, health, business, and special education; while
  attending Texas A&M, Ms. Lane met and fell in love with Cynee
  Villarreal, and the couple were married in November 2014; and
         WHEREAS, In her roles as a teacher and as the head varsity
  coach for girls' softball at West Oso High School, Ms. Lane was an
  inspiring mentor, and she tried to instill in her players not only a
  love of the game but also integrity and self-confidence; she was
  also a licensed fishing captain and guide and the owner of Sea Lane
  Outdoors, and she enjoyed participating in fishing tournaments; and
         WHEREAS, While Christina Lane's life ended far too soon, her
  bright spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and
  loved her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Christina Susanne
  Lane and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: to
  her wife, Cynee-Marie Villarreal-Lane; to her mother, Paula Davis
  Clark; to her aunt, Pam Franks; to her uncles, Robert Franks, John
  L. Davis Sr., and Frank Davis Jr.; to her cousins, John L. Davis
  Jr., Justin and Kaitlyn Franks, and David Franks; and to her other
  relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Christina
  Lane.
