R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Esther Borjas Garza of Robstown, who passed away on March 29,
  2017, at the age of 70; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Domingo and Beatrice Carrington
  Borjas, the former Esther Borjas was born in Robstown on February
  15, 1947, and grew up in the company of her sister, Estella, and her
  three brothers, Paul, Elias, and Domingo; on July 22, 1978, she
  married Edward Garza, with whom she shared a rewarding marriage
  that spanned nearly four decades; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. GarzaattendedTexasA&MUniversity--
  Kingsville, earning a bachelor's degree in elementary education in
  1980 and a master's degree three years later; almost immediately
  after completing her undergraduate studies, she joined the Robstown
  Independent School District as a third-grade teacher; she was known
  for her dedication and skill as an educator, and she touched the
  lives of countless students before retiring from the district in
  2000; a woman of deep faith, she also instructed CCD classes at
  St. Anthony Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of
  time will never diminish the joy and love that Esther Garza brought
  into the lives of all who knew her, and she will forever hold a
  treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Esther Borjas Garza
  and extend sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Esther
  Garza.
