R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Damon Austin Crossland has been named a sergeant |
|
|
major in the Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of El Paso, Mr. Crossland joined the corps |
|
|
in September 2015, and during his tenure, he has distinguished |
|
|
himself as a class representative, an assistant squad leader, and a |
|
|
guidon; in recognition of his exemplary efforts, he was named a top |
|
|
cadet in his sophomore year by Squadron One, Second Wing; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Crossland has also remained active at TAMU as |
|
|
assistant director of the internal committee of Freshman Leaders on |
|
|
Campus and as a flight officer and operations officer in the Special |
|
|
Tactics Squadron, which presented him with the Most Outstanding |
|
|
Candidate Award in 2016; he also received the Most Professional |
|
|
Award from FLOC that same year; following his graduation, he plans |
|
|
to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Upholding his squadron's motto of "Second to None," |
|
|
Damon Crossland has demonstrated exceptional dedication, |
|
|
leadership, and discipline as a member of the Texas A&M University |
|
|
Corps of Cadets, and he may indeed take pride in this notable honor; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Damon Austin Crossland on being |
|
|
named Second Wing Sergeant Major in the Texas A&M University Corps |
|
|
of Cadets and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Crossland as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
