R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Miquel J. Tebo has been presented with a Rising Star |
|
|
Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the |
|
|
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |
|
|
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |
|
|
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|
|
students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Miquel was recognized |
|
|
for both his academic success and his contributions to the |
|
|
community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Jessica and Rey Barrera, Miquel is a |
|
|
seventh grader at Haas Middle School, where he participates on the |
|
|
football and basketball teams and in the concert band; he plans to |
|
|
eventually attend Texas A&M University in College Station to pursue |
|
|
a degree in mechanical engineering; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Miquel Tebo is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|
|
honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Miquel J. Tebo on his receipt of a |
|
|
TRIO Islanders Organization Rising Star Award and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Miquel as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
