R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Marissa Guerra has been presented with a Rising Star |
|
|
Award from the Project GRAD program at Texas A&M University--Corpus |
|
|
Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Project GRAD is part of the university's Programs |
|
|
for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the |
|
|
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, |
|
|
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving a |
|
|
Rising Star Award, Ms. Guerra was recognized for making |
|
|
considerable improvement both in her academic achievements and in |
|
|
meeting the program's requirements; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A student in Project GRAD's Summer Prep Academy, |
|
|
Ms. Guerra is a freshman education major who aspires to a career |
|
|
working with children; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Marissa Guerra is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Marissa Guerra on her receipt of a |
|
|
Project GRAD Rising Star Award and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Guerra as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
