R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Walter Keven Davis of Waxahachie on April 24, 2017, at
  the age of 66; and
         WHEREAS, Born in March 1951 to Luther Monroe Davis and Grace
  Weir, Keven Davis shared a rewarding marriage with Dana Davis that
  spanned 35 years; he was the father of three sons, Erik, Kody, and
  Brittain, and in later years, he was blessed with five
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Davis was a partner at the surveying and
  engineering firm of Davis and McDill for 29 years, and he was widely
  respected in the business community of Waxahachie; a man of
  profound religious faith, he was active in the Walk to Emmaus and
  Kairos Prison Ministries at First United Methodist Church of Red
  Oak; and
         WHEREAS, A warmhearted and good-humored man, Mr. Davis loved
  to sing and play the guitar, tell silly jokes and tall tales, and
  collect arrowheads; he took great delight in nature and enjoyed
  stories of the paranormal, even if he didn't quite believe them; a
  serious Harry Potter fan, he considered himself a member in good
  standing of House Gryffindor of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft
  and Wizardry; and
         WHEREAS, A loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a
  true and loyal friend, Keven Davis lived a joyful and purposeful
  life, and memories of happy times spent in his company will forever
  illuminate the hearts of all who were privileged to know him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Walter Keven Davis
  and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Dana Davis; to his mother, Grace Weir; to his sons, Erik Davis
  and his wife, Tamara, Kody Davis and his wife, Elizabeth, and
  Brittain Davis and his wife, Rachel; to his grandchildren, Scout,
  Jadon, Ari, Thomas, and Audrey; to his sister, Brenda Adams; and to
  his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Walter
  Keven Davis.
