R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Gabriela H. Paz has been presented with an |
|
|
Outstanding Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program |
|
|
at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for |
|
|
Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the |
|
|
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, |
|
|
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an |
|
|
Outstanding Award, Ms. Paz was recognized for her academic |
|
|
achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology, |
|
|
engineering, or mathematics field of study; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of San Benito, Ms. Paz is a sophomore at |
|
|
TAMU--CC, where she is working toward a bachelor's degree in |
|
|
nursing; after graduating, she plans to pursue a career as a nurse |
|
|
at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Gabriela Paz is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|
|
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Gabriela H. Paz on her receipt of |
|
|
an SSS-STEM Outstanding Award and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Paz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
