R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Andrea Galabeas has been presented with a Community |
|
|
Services Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the |
|
|
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |
|
|
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |
|
|
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|
|
students; in receiving a Community Services Award, Ms. Galabeas was |
|
|
recognized for her commitment to participating in the |
|
|
organization's service projects throughout the past year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Corpus Christi native, Ms. Galabeas is a senior at |
|
|
TAMU--CC majoring in education with a focus on mathematics, and she |
|
|
hopes to pursue a career that enables her to make a difference in |
|
|
the lives of children; she is also a founding member of the TRIO |
|
|
Islanders Organization and has served as its secretary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Andrea Galabeas is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Andrea Galabeas on her receipt of a |
|
|
TRIO Islanders Organization Community Services Award and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Galabeas as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
