R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Homar Alaniz has been presented with a Community |
|
|
Services Award by the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the |
|
|
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |
|
|
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |
|
|
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|
|
students; in receiving a Community Services Award, Mr. Alaniz was |
|
|
recognized for his participation in a number of local service |
|
|
projects coordinated by TRIO Islanders throughout the past year; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Mr. Alaniz is majoring in |
|
|
kinesiology in pursuit of a career as a physical therapist, and he |
|
|
currently serves as president of the TRIO Islanders Organization; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Homar Alaniz is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|
|
honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Homar Alaniz on his receipt of a |
|
|
TRIO Islanders Organization Community Services Award and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Alaniz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
