R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Nannette Underwood of Fort Worth is retiring from |
|
|
Rosemont Middle School on June 3, 2017, drawing to a close a notable |
|
|
career in education that has spanned 22 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Currently a seventh- and eighth-grade U.S. history |
|
|
teacher, Ms. Underwood first joined the Rosemont faculty in 1996, |
|
|
when she accepted a position with the special education department; |
|
|
in her 21 years at the school, she has coached the girls' basketball |
|
|
team and sponsored the cheerleading team, the yearbook staff, the |
|
|
Chess Club, and the Whiz Quiz team; in addition, she helped organize |
|
|
and supervise a spring break trip to Washington, D.C., |
|
|
Philadelphia, New York City, and Gettysburg for 40 students in |
|
|
2004; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In recognition of her many contributions, |
|
|
Ms. Underwood was named the Rosemont Teacher of the Year in 2005; |
|
|
she has also received a number of grants to pursue professional |
|
|
development opportunities in various locations around the country; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Nannette Underwood has worked to instill in her |
|
|
students a lifelong love of learning, and she may indeed reflect |
|
|
with pride on a career well spent as she embarks on the next |
|
|
exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Nannette Underwood on the occasion |
|
|
of her retirement from Rosemont Middle School and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Underwood as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
