R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
  memories of Robert David Fields of Sandia, who passed away on April
  18, 2017, at the age of 63; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Dan and Joyce Fields, David Fields was
  born in Denver City on October 24, 1953; after graduating from high
  school, he attended Southwest Texas State University and then Texas
  Tech University; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Fields enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in
  the cotton industry, working at the Acuff McClung Co-op Gin and the
  Plains Cotton Cooperative Association before becoming president
  and CEO of Gulf Compress in Corpus Christi; moreover, he benefited
  his profession as president of the Texas Agricultural Cooperative
  Council and as a member of the South Texas Cotton and Grain
  Producers Association and the Cotton Growers Warehouse
  Association; in recognition of his accomplishments, he was named
  both Cooperator of the Year and Warehouseman of the Year by the
  Texas Cotton Association; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Fields was supported by
  the love and encouragement of his wife, Leasa, and he took
  tremendous pride in his two children, Jacob and Luci; and
         WHEREAS, David Fields lived a life that was rich in personal
  and professional achievements, and he will long be remembered with
  admiration and affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Robert David Fields
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Leasa Fields; to his children, Jacob Fields and Luci Edwards
  and her husband, Kyle; to his parents, Dan and Joyce Fields; to his
  sisters, Danna Dewlen and her husband, Robert, and Deborah Savage
  and her husband, Jack; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Robert
  David Fields.
