H.R. No. 2064

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Iyobo Elegon has been presented with an Outstanding Award and a Superstar Award from the Project GRAD program at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and

WHEREAS, Project GRAD is part of the university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; Ms. Elegon was honored with the Outstanding Award for her academic achievements and with the Superstar Award for her demonstrated leadership ability, commitment to helping other students, and involvement in campus and program activities; and

WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Ms. Elegon originally hails from Houston and holds an associate degree from Houston Community College; she is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing, and she has served the university as a Summer Prep Academy leader for Project GRAD; after graduating, she plans to become a trauma nurse and to eventually work in global health services; and

WHEREAS, Iyobo Elegon is indeed deserving of special recognition, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Iyobo Elegon on her receipt of an Outstanding Award and a Superstar Award as a participant in Project GRAD and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Elegon as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
