R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lauren Davila has been presented with a Rising Star |
|
|
Award by the Student Support Services-STEM program at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for |
|
|
Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the |
|
|
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, |
|
|
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving a |
|
|
Rising Star Award, Ms. Davila was recognized for her academic |
|
|
achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology, |
|
|
engineering, or mathematics field of study; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Davila was enrolled in the SSS-STEM program for |
|
|
one year before graduating with a bachelor's degree in nursing from |
|
|
TAMU--CC in December 2016; today, she is employed as a nurse at a |
|
|
hospital in Dallas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Lauren Davila is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lauren Davila on her receipt of a |
|
|
Student Support Services-STEM Rising Star Award and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Davila as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
