R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez has been presented with an Outstanding |
|
|
Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for |
|
|
Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the |
|
|
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, |
|
|
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an |
|
|
Outstanding Award, Mr. Martinez was recognized for his academic |
|
|
achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology, |
|
|
engineering, or mathematics field of study; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A sophomore at TAMU--CC, Mr. Martinez is working |
|
|
toward a degree in nursing; after graduating, he plans to pursue a |
|
|
career as a nurse and hopes to help improve the overall quality of |
|
|
hospital care; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ivan Martinez is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ivan Martinez on his receipt of a |
|
|
Student Support Services--STEM Outstanding Award and extend to him |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
|
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Martinez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
