R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Reymundo Barrera has been presented with a Key
  Spouse Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M
  University--Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the
  university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
  initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
  resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
  students; in receiving a Key Spouse Award, Mr. Barrera was
  recognized for going above and beyond in his efforts to support his
  wife, Jessica Barrera, who currently serves as treasurer of the
  organization; and
         WHEREAS, An alumnus of Del Mar College, Mr. Barrera has
  devoted himself to the care of the couple's family, which includes
  seven children and two grandchildren, thereby enabling his wife to
  pursue her educational goals; he has also volunteered alongside his
  wife at many of the TRIO Islanders community service projects and
  helped out during organizational meetings; and
         WHEREAS, Reymundo Barrera has generously contributed to the
  worthwhile mission of the TRIO Islanders Organization, and he is
  indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Reymundo Barrera on his receipt of
  a Key Spouse Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Barrera as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
