H.R. No. 2083

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Kianna Sills has been presented with an Outstanding Award and a Community Service Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and

WHEREAS, The TRIO Islanders Organization is part of the university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an Outstanding Award and a Community Service Award, Ms. Sills was honored for both her notable record of academic achievement and her participation in a number of local service projects coordinated by the TRIO Islanders; and

WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, Ms. Sills is studying information technology and managed information systems, and she currently serves as the lending library chair for the TRIO Islanders; after completing her degree, she aspires to start her own IT consulting firm catering to midsized boutique companies; and

WHEREAS, Kianna Sills is indeed deserving of special recognition, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate Kianna Sills on her receipt of an Outstanding Award and a Community Service Award from the TRIO Islanders Organization and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Sills as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
