R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Lucy Kellison is graduating from The University of |
|
Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs on May |
|
20, 2017; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Kellison began her higher education studies at |
|
Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, and served as a campus |
|
campaign coordinator for Teach For America while she was an |
|
undergraduate; after receiving a bachelor's degree in history in |
|
2013, she continued working with the organization, becoming a |
|
seventh grade social studies teacher at KIPP Memphis Collegiate |
|
Middle School; moreover, she completed an internship with the |
|
College Board organization in Washington, D.C., in the summer of |
|
2016; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since enrolling in the Master of Public Affairs |
|
program at the LBJ School, Ms. Kellison has undertaken a policy |
|
research project in the area of juvenile justice; she has also |
|
served as a graduate research assistant with the Charles A. Dana |
|
Center and as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|
Representative Harold V. Dutton Jr.; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Kellison has enjoyed the |
|
support of a loving family that includes her parents, Sally |
|
Furgerson and Bruce Kellison Jr., and her brother, Henry Kellison; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The exceptional discipline and dedication that Lucy |
|
Kellison has demonstrated throughout her academic career herald a |
|
future bright with promise, and she may reflect with pride on her |
|
many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of |
|
her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Lucy Kellison on her graduation |
|
from The University of Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School of |
|
Public Affairs and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Kellison as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
