R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Lucy Kellison is graduating from The University of
  Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs on May
  20, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Kellison began her higher education studies at
  Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, and served as a campus
  campaign coordinator for Teach For America while she was an
  undergraduate; after receiving a bachelor's degree in history in
  2013, she continued working with the organization, becoming a
  seventh grade social studies teacher at KIPP Memphis Collegiate
  Middle School; moreover, she completed an internship with the
  College Board organization in Washington, D.C., in the summer of
  2016; and
         WHEREAS, Since enrolling in the Master of Public Affairs
  program at the LBJ School, Ms. Kellison has undertaken a policy
  research project in the area of juvenile justice; she has also
  served as a graduate research assistant with the Charles A. Dana
  Center and as a legislative aide in the office of State
  Representative Harold V. Dutton Jr.; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Kellison has enjoyed the
  support of a loving family that includes her parents, Sally
  Furgerson and Bruce Kellison Jr., and her brother, Henry Kellison;
  and
         WHEREAS, The exceptional discipline and dedication that Lucy
  Kellison has demonstrated throughout her academic career herald a
  future bright with promise, and she may reflect with pride on her
  many accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of
  her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lucy Kellison on her graduation
  from The University of Texas at Austin Lyndon B. Johnson School of
  Public Affairs and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Kellison as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
