R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Miriam M. Elizondo has stepped down as executive
  director of the Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio, concluding an
  exemplary 13 years of service to the center and its clients; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at San
  Antonio, Ms. Elizondo went on to complete a master's degree in
  psychology in 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake University; after
  accepting an internship with the Rape Crisis Center, beginning what
  she believed would be a temporary affiliation, she felt a calling to
  continue her work there; she signed on as a full-time clinician, and
  in 2007 she was named clinical director of the center; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Ms. Elizondo has executed
  her duties with skill, energy, and selfless commitment; honored by
  Our Lady of the Lake University with the Outstanding Alumni Award,
  she was also selected as a 2016-2017 Tesoro Leadership Fellow by the
  San Antonio Area Foundation; and
         WHEREAS, Miriam Elizondo's leadership and compassion have
  contributed immeasurably to the work of the Rape Crisis Center, and
  she may reflect with pride on all that she has accomplished as she
  embarks on the next chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Miriam M. Elizondo for her service to the
  Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Elizondo as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
