R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Miriam M. Elizondo has stepped down as executive |
|
director of the Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio, concluding an |
|
exemplary 13 years of service to the center and its clients; and |
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of The University of Texas at San |
|
Antonio, Ms. Elizondo went on to complete a master's degree in |
|
psychology in 2005 at Our Lady of the Lake University; after |
|
accepting an internship with the Rape Crisis Center, beginning what |
|
she believed would be a temporary affiliation, she felt a calling to |
|
continue her work there; she signed on as a full-time clinician, and |
|
in 2007 she was named clinical director of the center; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure, Ms. Elizondo has executed |
|
her duties with skill, energy, and selfless commitment; honored by |
|
Our Lady of the Lake University with the Outstanding Alumni Award, |
|
she was also selected as a 2016-2017 Tesoro Leadership Fellow by the |
|
San Antonio Area Foundation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Miriam Elizondo's leadership and compassion have |
|
contributed immeasurably to the work of the Rape Crisis Center, and |
|
she may reflect with pride on all that she has accomplished as she |
|
embarks on the next chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Miriam M. Elizondo for her service to the |
|
Rape Crisis Center in San Antonio and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Elizondo as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
