R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Detective Ronald L. Iscaro retired from the Dallas |
|
Police Department on May 2, 2017, drawing to a close a notable |
|
tenure that spanned three and a half decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ron Iscaro joined the department as a police officer |
|
on April 5, 1982, and he went on to earn promotion to detective; at |
|
the time of his retirement, he was assigned to the Northeast |
|
Investigative Unit; and |
|
WHEREAS, A highly decorated peace officer, Mr. Iscaro was |
|
accorded the Theodore Roosevelt Award and the Police Shield Award |
|
after being shot while on duty in 1983, and over the years he also |
|
received 19 commendations; he further distinguished himself as a |
|
member of the Dallas Police Choir, singing at area nursing homes and |
|
rehabilitation centers, and he plans to accompany the ensemble to |
|
Washington, D.C., later this year to perform a tribute to police |
|
officers killed in the line of duty; in all his endeavors, he enjoys |
|
the love and support of his wife, Ann; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ron Iscaro exemplified the highest ideals of the law |
|
enforcement profession throughout his career, and his unwavering |
|
dedication to the safety and well-being of his fellow citizens has |
|
earned him the lasting respect and admiration of all who know him; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ronald L. Iscaro on his retirement |
|
from the Dallas Police Department and extend to him sincere best |
|
wishes for continued happiness and fulfillment; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Detective Iscaro as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
