R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Rebecca C. Reyna is celebrating her 10th
  anniversary as executive director of the Greater Northside
  Management District in 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Reyna's passion for serving the residents of the
  Northside area of Houston stems from having been born and raised in
  the community; throughout her life, she has been inspired by the
  example of her father, a World War II veteran who owned a local
  business, and her mother, who was a teacher at Lee Elementary
  School; following her graduation from Texas A&M University--Corpus
  Christi, Ms. Reyna returned to her hometown and began her
  distinguished career in public service; she worked more than a
  decade for Harris County, where she implemented an intensive
  supervision program, managing its budget and curriculum; she also
  served as policy director for a Houston City Council member and was
  employed with the city's Housing and Community Development
  Department; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Reyna was named the first executive director of
  the Greater Northside Management District in April 2007, and since
  that time, she has played an instrumental role in guiding the
  organization in its mission to promote economic development in
  North Houston; she has provided vital oversight to such initiatives
  as the Safety Patrol Program, the Graffiti Abatement program, and
  the Right-Of-Way Maintenance/Litter Abatement Program, and under
  her able leadership, the district has seen a reduction in crime,
  graffiti, and litter, as well as an increase in development; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to fulfilling her professional duties,
  this outstanding Texan has lent her time and talents to a number of
  civic organizations over the years, serving on the boards of the
  Institute for Civility in Government, the M. D. Anderson Family
  YMCA, and Blueprint Houston, as well as on the advisory council for
  the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to the betterment of the Bayou City,
  Rebecca Reyna has worked tirelessly in behalf of her fellow
  residents, and her contributions continue to make Houston an even
  better place in which to live, work, and raise a family; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Rebecca C. Reyna on the occasion of
  her 10th anniversary as executive director of the Greater Northside
  Management District and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Reyna as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
