R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Tomball High School Percussion Ensemble reached
  a new level of achievement by winning the Scholastic Concert Open
  Class title at the Winter Guard International Percussion World
  Championship held in Dayton, Ohio, on April 20-22, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Facing off against a field of top ensembles from
  around the globe, the Tomball percussionists advanced through the
  preliminary rounds to reach the finals, where they claimed the
  crown after dazzling a panel of judges with an impressive display of
  musicianship and technical ability; and
         WHEREAS, Skillfully guided by director Rob Sullens, the
  members of the ensemble include Ruben Acuna, Caleb Brinkmeyer,
  Michelle Bustos, Georgia Dowdy, Zach Foreman, Sabrina Gutierrez,
  Evelyn Hernandez, Cameron Isaacs, Katie Johnson, Sebastian Lomeli,
  Olivia Moore, Kimberly Paz, Santiago Perez-Isaza, Madison Quesnel,
  Andrew Sanchez, Emmie Schubert, Kennedy Shalloup, Michael Stegman,
  Jonathan Vazquez, Mitchell Vereide, Emma Vest, Abril Villarreal,
  Joshua Werner, Garrett Williams, and Zach Wood; and
         WHEREAS, Succeeding on an international stage requires
  countless hours of hard work and an unwavering commitment to
  excellence, and the talented members of the Tomball High School
  Percussion Ensemble will treasure their memory of this
  accomplishment for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Tomball High School Percussion
  Ensemble on winning the Scholastic Concert Open Class title at the
  2017 Winter Guard International Percussion World Championship and
  extend to the group's members and director sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the ensemble as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
