R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Kris Oliver retired from the Richardson Independent |
|
School District Board of Trustees in May 2017, concluding seven |
|
years of dedicated service to that body; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since 1997, the year his children entered Richardson |
|
ISD, Mr. Oliver has been actively involved with the district, |
|
holding leadership roles with the athletic and choir booster clubs |
|
and serving as chair of the Eagle Fund and as a member of the RISD |
|
Excellence in Education Foundation board; he was first elected as a |
|
district trustee in 2010, and he held the position of secretary at |
|
the time of his retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan graduated with a bachelor's |
|
degree in accounting from Abilene Christian University and a |
|
master's degree in marketing from The University of Texas at |
|
Austin; he began his career as an auditor at Arthur Andersen in |
|
1987, and five years later, he joined Sabre Holdings, where he |
|
served in a number of capacities in the finance and marketing |
|
divisions before retiring as vice president in 2005; today, he |
|
works as chief executive officer of Amen Properties, an oil and gas |
|
investment company; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering commitment to his |
|
community's schools, Kris Oliver has helped provide for the diverse |
|
educational needs of our future leaders, and his contributions to |
|
Richardson ISD will continue to benefit area students for years to |
|
come; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kris Oliver on his retirement from |
|
the Richardson Independent School District Board of Trustees and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Oliver as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
