R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Alfonso Cohuo has been presented with an Outstanding |
|
|
Award from the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M |
|
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the |
|
|
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |
|
|
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |
|
|
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|
|
students; in receiving an Outstanding Award, Mr. Cohuo was |
|
|
recognized for his record of academic excellence within the |
|
|
program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Mr. Cohuo is working toward a |
|
|
bachelor's degree in biology, and he also finds time to tutor his |
|
|
fellow students in a number of subjects, including general |
|
|
chemistry and biochemistry; after graduating, he plans to pursue a |
|
|
career in academia with a research focus in marine biology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alfonso Cohuo is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor, and he may look forward to a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Alfonso Cohuo on his receipt of a |
|
|
McNair Scholars Program Outstanding Award and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Cohuo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
