R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Carson Huey-You graduated from Texas Christian
  University on May 13, 2017, at just 14 years of age, earning the
  distinction of becoming the youngest graduate in the school's
  history; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Huey-You demonstrated uncommon scholastic
  ability early on, and after being homeschooled for a couple of
  years, he entered the eighth grade at age five and went on to
  receive his high school diploma in 2013, at the age of 10; and
         WHEREAS, A physics major, Mr. Huey-You spent much of his
  undergraduate career conducting research on such topics as
  cancerous tumor growths and energy eigenvalues of quantum
  mechanical states; moreover, he double minored in mathematics and
  Chinese, and he placed third in the Southern U.S. region at the
  "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition hosted by the
  Confucius Institute; he plans to attend graduate school at TCU in
  the fall, and he hopes to one day enjoy a career as a quantum
  physicist; and
         WHEREAS, This exceptional young Texan is a source of
  tremendous pride to his family and his community, and he is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for this extraordinary
  achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Carson Huey-You on his graduation
  from Texas Christian University and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Huey-You as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
