H.R. No. 2242

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, A number of engaged citizens are working to build an even brighter future for the North Texas community through their participation in the 2017 Leadership Dallas Class; and

WHEREAS, Created in 1975 as a program of the Dallas Regional Chamber, Leadership Dallas serves to develop the potential of future leaders, identifying young businesspeople and entrepreneurs of diverse backgrounds and bringing them together with current leaders to explore issues critical to the community; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding, this outstanding program has trained hundreds of participants in civic leadership; many of those individuals have gone on to serve as members of community, city, and county boards and commissions; in addition, the Leadership Dallas Alumni Association carries on the work of the program itself, offering opportunities for graduates to maintain strong relationships with one another and providing educational programs to help keep them abreast of issues facing the area; and

WHEREAS, By working to complete the Leadership Dallas curriculum, the members of the Class of 2017 have demonstrated an admirable commitment to making a positive difference in the world around them, and they are indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Leadership Dallas Class of 2017 on their participation in this worthwhile program and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
