R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Andrea Ojeda has ably served her fellow Texans as a |
|
|
Mexican American Legislative Leadership Foundation Fellow and |
|
|
intern in the office of State Representative Rafael Anchia during |
|
|
the 85th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Ojeda has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
|
in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|
|
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. Ojeda earned a bachelor's |
|
|
degree in political science from St. Edward's University, where she |
|
|
served as senator pro tempore of the Student Government Association |
|
|
and volunteered her time as a site coordinator for the Big Event, a |
|
|
major campus-wide service project; she has also previously held |
|
|
internships with the Houston Hispanic Forum, the Austin Chamber of |
|
|
Commerce, the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for |
|
|
Hispanics, the Texas Democratic Party, and the Center for Public |
|
|
Policy Priorities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Andrea Ojeda for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Rafael |
|
|
Anchia and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ojeda as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
