R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Austin "Rose" Heilman has been presented with a |
|
Rising Star Award by the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M |
|
University--Corpus Christi; and |
|
WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the |
|
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) |
|
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing |
|
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented |
|
students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Ms. Heilman was |
|
recognized for her progress in academic achievements and program |
|
requirements; and |
|
WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, where she is currently |
|
majoring in psychology, Ms. Heilman has been selected to present |
|
her student research at the 2017 Association for Psychological |
|
Science convention in Boston; following her graduation, she plans |
|
to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Rose Heilman is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Austin "Rose" Heilman on her |
|
receipt of a McNair Scholars Program Rising Star Award and extend to |
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Heilman as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
