R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Michelle McGaha has been presented with an
  Outstanding Award from the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M
  University--Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the
  university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS)
  initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing
  resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented
  students; in receiving an Outstanding Award, Ms. McGaha was
  recognized for her record of academic excellence within the
  program; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Houston, Ms. McGaha is majoring in
  biomedical science, and she also serves as the events coordinator
  for the TAMU--CC SACNAS chapter; after graduating, she plans to
  continue her studies at the University of Nebraska Omaha and work
  toward a doctorate in clinical laboratory sciences; and
         WHEREAS, Michelle McGaha is indeed deserving of this
  prestigious honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with
  promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Michelle McGaha on her receipt of a
  McNair Scholars Program Outstanding Award and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. McGaha as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
