R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Mathew Hernandez is graduating as the salutatorian
  of the senior class of Robstown Early College High School in 2017;
  and
         WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only
  intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the
  highest academic standards; Mr. Hernandez has demonstrated a
  thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his
  attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement
  of a notable high school career; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Elizabeth and Basilio Hernandez,
  Mr. Hernandez plans to continue his education at Texas A&M
  University--Kingsville, studying mechanical engineering; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Mathew Hernandez
  has earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and
  classmates, and his exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and
  commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless
  opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Mathew Hernandez, salutatorian of
  the Class of 2017 at Robstown Early College High School, and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success as he begins the
  next exciting chapter of his life; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
