R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the untimely loss of
  Natalie Cowen Gonzalez of Sugar Land, who passed away on April 15,
  2017, at the age of 43; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of John F. Cowen Sr. and Cheryl and Greg
  Phelps, the former Natalie Cowen was born in Denton on June 29,
  1973, and she grew up with the companionship of her half siblings,
  John F. Cowen Jr., Benjamin Cowen, and Megan Stinson; and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from Pace High School in
  Brownsville in 1991, Ms. Gonzalez went on to earn her bachelor's
  degree in journalism from The University of Texas at Austin; she
  subsequently embarked on a rewarding career that included positions
  in advertising and marketing, public relations, and corporate
  talent recruiting, and she further contributed to her professional
  community as chair of the Houston chapter of the American
  Advertising Federation; and
         WHEREAS, This outstanding Texan was deeply committed to
  serving her community of faith, and she worked as the early
  childhood director of a Christian ministry and as a Christian life
  coach; she also traveled extensively, and she participated in a
  mission trip to Uganda; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Gonzalez enjoyed the love
  and support of her husband, Ignacio, and she took great pride in her
  two daughters, Mia and Ava; and
         WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too
  soon, Natalie Gonzalez has left her loved ones with many cherished
  memories, and she will forever hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Natalie Cowen
  Gonzalez and extend heartfelt sympathy to all who mourn her
  passing; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Natalie
  Gonzalez.
