R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, The boys' 4x200-meter relay team from Valley High |
|
|
School in Turkey, Texas, achieved great distinction by clinching |
|
|
the Class 1A state championship at the 2017 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, the quartet |
|
|
consisting of senior Adrian Espinoza and juniors Juan Villarreal, |
|
|
Dax Allen, and Jayton Smith bested its opponents in the relay event |
|
|
with a time of 1 minute, 30.99 seconds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, these talented young Texans |
|
|
have ably represented their school, and they will cherish their |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Valley High School boys' |
|
|
4x200-meter relay team on winning the gold medal at the 2017 UIL |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet and extend to each member sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the squad as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
