R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Luvly Williams, a junior at Shamrock High School, |
|
|
achieved great distinction by winning the Class 1A girls' 100-meter |
|
|
dash at the 2017 University Interscholastic League Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Ms. Williams |
|
|
captured the gold medal and set a new conference record in the event |
|
|
with a time of 12.25 seconds; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, this talented young Texan has |
|
|
ably represented her school, and she will cherish her memories of |
|
|
this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Luvly Williams on placing first in |
|
|
the Class 1A girls' 100-meter dash at the 2017 UIL Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
