R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Chase Thompson of Rule High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by capturing the gold medal in the 1A boys' 100-meter |
|
|
and 400-meter dash events at the 2017 University Interscholastic |
|
|
League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Mr. Thompson turned in an |
|
|
exceptional performance, recording a time of 11.09 seconds in the |
|
|
100-meter dash and 49.33 seconds in the 400-meter dash to take first |
|
|
place in both contests; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Chase Thompson has ably |
|
|
represented his school, and he will cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Chase Thompson on winning gold |
|
|
medals in the 1A boys' 100-meter and 400-meter dash events at the |
|
|
2017 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Thompson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
